The first time your baby smiles at you is an exciting milestone in your relationship; it’s also an important sigh that she is developing mentally.
When your baby begins to smile, she is demonstrating that she can recognize you and that she wants to engage in an exchange with you- she’s already being sociable. She will start to respond with smiles to your talking to her, because she has learned that this pleases you and makes you talk to her more- her first attempts at “conversation”.
